At a recent meeting with the management of Redhill hospital your local councillors highlighted problems faced by people from the Horsham area who are unable to have early morning appointments at Redhill Hospital because the community transport scheme is not in operation that early. If you need an early morning medical appointment then help is at hand. G4S will collect you from home and take you to Redhill hospital provided, when you ring 01306 734329 (open 8am to 6pm Monday – Friday) you can answer “no” to the two questions asked. You will need to call at least 24 hours before the appointment. If you have a problem, please let us know.

Recycling

The Acorn Plus scheme, which has been such a success, has now been rolled out across the district. As a result of this initiative which was introduced by your Conservative district council, recycling rates are nearly 60% which is a fantastic achievement. Other councils are showing great interest in what has been achieved and the scheme has been nominated for a national award.

It is very important that everyone “buys in” to recycling. As you drive from Kingsfold to Horsham on the A24 you can not fail to see on the left the massive waste mountain at Biffa’s landfill site. Seeing it should be enough to make anyone want to recycle.

There are no hidden electronic chips in the bins and normal refuse collection will continue weekly.
